As Astute’s first collaboration with Benson McCormack Architecture, the project established a shared commitment to thoughtful urban design, quality construction and enduring residential outcomes.
326 Marrickville Road, Marrickville
Occupying a long, narrow site with dual frontages to Marrickville Road and Touhy Lane, Kindred has been carefully planned to strengthen its connection to the surrounding neighbourhood. Comprising 40 spacious apartments, three ground-floor commercial premises and basement parking, the development is arranged across two distinct built forms separated by a landscaped communal courtyard. This central garden sanctuary provides residents with a sense of openness and community while connecting the development's two street frontages.
Designed by Benson McCormack Architecture, with landscape architecture by Conzept Landscape Architects and planning by GAT & Associates, Kindred balances contemporary living with a strong respect for its context. The building's distinctive façade, material palette and architectural detailing were carefully considered to create a dialogue with the neighbouring church and acknowledge the established character of the surrounding streetscape.
